About The
Believers Cross
Deep Dive into the creation of the Believers Cross
as Told by Rev. Thomas J Bolling
Over twenty-five years ago, my son, Jeffery B., had a moment that changed everything for him. At that time, he had been in the jewelry industry for over two decades. He had designed countless pieces, some of the most beautiful jewelry you’d ever see, but he had never made one that truly reflected the faith that had been a cornerstone of his life.
One evening, while traveling across the country selling jewelry, Jeffery found himself alone in his hotel room, as he often was during those long trips. It was then that he started to reflect on how, despite his strong faith and the spiritual upbringing he had in our family, he had never created a piece of jewelry that represented that part of his life. I’d been a pastor for over forty years, and faith was always at the heart of our family. But Jeffery realized that he had never crafted anything that mirrored the depth of his belief. That night, something stirred within him, and he felt compelled to change that.
The inspiration truly took shape when, one evening, he happened to catch a TV interview. A woman was being interviewed, and she openly identified herself as an atheist. Yet, what struck Jeffery was that she was wearing cross earrings and a cross pendant. It didn’t make sense to him—how could someone who didn’t believe in God
wear such a powerful symbol of faith? When she was asked about it, she explained that the crosses were simply fashion accessories to her, and nothing more.
That was a turning point for Jeffery. He told me, “Dad, I realized I had to create something that could never be seen as just a fashion statement.” He wanted to design a cross that carried a powerful, unmistakable message—a piece that would be worn with an understanding of its deep spiritual significance. It needed to be something that proclaimed the faith, not just as an accessory, but as a statement of belief.
Jeffery drew from the very essence of Christianity. He wanted the piece to convey the fundamental truth that Jesus lives. Through His crucifixion, death, and resurrection, Jesus triumphed over death, and that victory is the heart of our faith. That belief became the inspiration for what Jeffery called the Believer’s Cross.
With his experience and skill, Jeffery used a 3D CAD design system to bring this vision to life. He developed a unique feature: the phrase “Jesus lives” would appear on one side of the crossbar, and through a special design technique, the letters would morph so that the same message was visible on both sides. It was a complex design, but Jeffery told me, “I wanted to make sure that no matter how you looked at it, the cross would always declare its message.”
The Believer’s Cross is more than a piece of jewelry. It’s a statement of faith. It’s a reminder of the eternal life offered through Christ, a testament to the unchanging truth that Jesus lives. Every time someone wears it, they carry that truth with them, and that was Jeffery’s vision from the very beginning.
